    TESOL Certificate:
    Minimum Requirements. Age: 20 Years. Education: Capable of producing university-level work

    English: Fluent or near-native fluency
    TEFL International’s TESOL certificate is a four week, 120 hours intensive course, teaching students how to teach English as a second language.
    TEFL International has been in operation for 9 years and has 21 schools operating around the world.

    Foreign Language Experience
    The trainees receive training in an unknown foreign language to reflect on the experience of being a learner, and how this might direct their own teaching.
    Language Awareness
    Grammar
    Inputs cover word classes, simple sentence elements, complex sentences and clauses, verb time and tense, aspect and conditionals and modals, phrasals and voice.
    Phonology
    Inputs cover phonemics, word stress and intonation, sentence structure
    TESOL / TEFL Courses stress and intonation, rhythm and intonation, and connected speech.

    Student Profile
    Trainees work with individual students on rapport-building, error analysis and addressing individual student needs.
    Two meetings with the student are required including transcription and error analysis of audio samples, culminating in a summary of the student's 'profile.'

    Teaching Practice and Observation
    All teachers are expected to perform:
    4 hours observing experienced teachers
    4 hours observing video of experienced teachers
    16 hours of classroom observation
    8 hours of individual teaching practice

    Materials Project
    All trainees must develop four sets of materials used during the teaching practice.
    The materials including drawings, audio tapes, scripts and others must be produced by the individual trainee, and not be copied from other sources.
    Two of these sets will be written up in The Portfolio as the Materials Compilation Project including:
    context of the lesson
    materials used
    how and why the materials were used
    critical review of how the materials or their use could be improved suggestions about how these materials could be used in teaching other contexts.
    As well each trainee must show that they can draw adequately on the board to model context and meaning during teaching practice.

    Tefl Certificate Course:
    A one month course designed to adequately prepare a teacher for the realities of an ESL/EFL classroom.
    120 hours of intensive methodology, language and grammar practice further supported by teaching practice in real school settings.
    These practices are observed, giving the trainee the chance to reflect on challenges, learn methods, and build skills needed to be effective teachers.
