We are living in the second largest city in Indonesia is rewarding, interesting, frustrating, enriching, exciting, frightening and surprisingly
comfortable.
A bit stressful at times. Hello there.
If
you find something interesting here, sign the guestbook.
We want to read your comments.

We just moved.
We barely survived.
Most things arrived unbroken.
Family relations are a bit bruised.
The average move involves the shipping of 90% of your physical environment.
The disruption of 76.2% of your mental environnment.
The upsetting of 100% of your family, and the tearing asunder of any illusions of mental stability.
The move has been in the offing for over a year.
We were going to buy a small house, but then plans changed.
We were going to move, and rent Momma's house, but plans changed.
We were going to relocated to Canada, but ...
We visited Canada.
We had a good time.
Except for being robbed and then being jerked around by an insurance company and their investigator.
We returned to Indonesia.
We decided to make a go of it here.
We looked around for houses to rent as we looked for someone to buy the house.
The house was finally sold and then began the real pressure to find a new home.
The house belonged to Emily's mom.
She was going to move into Emily's sister's house, but then it changed.
Now we had to rearrange our priorities and reassess the damage.
My boss had a new schedule for me on Saturday.
Out of the city for the afternoon the day before the move ... got back, was exhausted.
We had begun repairing the house a few weeks earlier. Plaster, painting, installing air conditioners and fans, overhauling the wiring and plumbing.
We began early on Sunday.
First things first, the ceremony.
Emily carried steamed rice. I carried uncooked rice and a lit candle. Then some neighborhood men sat on a carpet and conducted a prayer which we paid for and they ate chicken, rice, boiled eggs, beef and vegetables and took home packages of the same meal. It was an expensive morning so one hopes their prayers reach the right ears.
Everyone is settled.
Momma has a room.
Grace has a room.
A refurbished garage has become Adryan's room.
We redid one small room and built another so the servants have rooms.
After all of that Emily and I managed to put together a nice room for ourselves.
The shower is cold, and our gate is too low for comfort.
Maybe the prayers will be answered and we'll have a 50/50 chance of a happy and healthy New year in the new house.
All the best, Wayne and family
